We're building a network of physicians who understand ME/CFS, learn from one another, and work together to improve care. Our mission is to make knowledgeable, compassionate treatment accessible to patients everywhere.
Frontline Physicians for ME/CFS is an initiative founded to connect physicians who are committed to improving care for people living with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS).
The vision is to create a network of knowledgeable, compassionate physicians who can learn from one another, share clinical experiences, and work collaboratively to improve patient care.
Rather than expecting individual physicians to navigate this complex illness alone, the movement seeks to build a supportive professional community where knowledge, experience, and resources can be shared.
Our goal is to establish a network with at least one physician in each of the 50 states who is connected to the Frontline Physicians for ME/CFS community.
Participating physicians will work from a shared foundation of knowledge, a common framework for understanding ME/CFS, and a shared clinical language that makes meaningful collaboration possible.
By exchanging ideas, learning from patient experiences, and building on one another's insights, this community can develop knowledge and approaches to care that no single physician could achieve alone.
Direct Primary Care (DPC) offers a different approach to healthcare—one built around the relationship between physicians and their patients.
Unlike traditional insurance-based primary care, DPC physicians typically operate through a membership model that allows them to spend more time with patients, provide individualized care, and develop a deeper understanding of complex medical conditions.
For patients living with ME/CFS, this additional time and flexibility can be especially valuable. The illness often requires careful symptom management, ongoing communication, and an individualized approach that can be difficult to provide during brief medical appointments.
Dr. Brown believes Direct Primary Care physicians are uniquely positioned to help expand access to knowledgeable ME/CFS care. By connecting these physicians through Frontline Physicians for ME/CFS, the movement aims to create a collaborative network where doctors can share knowledge, learn from one another, and better support their patients.
Frontline Physicians for ME/CFS is designed to bring physicians together through education, collaboration, and shared clinical experience.
The vision is to create a professional network where physicians can:
Share clinical insights and practical approaches to managing ME/CFS.
Learn from one another's experiences treating complex chronic illness.
Participate in peer-to-peer discussions and consultations.
Develop a common understanding of ME/CFS diagnosis and management.
Help expand access to knowledgeable care in communities across the country.
By working together, participating physicians can build on shared knowledge and contribute to a stronger foundation for ME/CFS care.
Meet the Physician Behind the Movement

Dr. Katie Brown is a family physician whose commitment to improving ME/CFS care is deeply personal.
After developing ME/CFS during her first year of medical school, she experienced firsthand the challenges patients face when trying to find physicians who understand their illness.
Her experience as both a patient and a physician inspired her to work toward something bigger: a connected community of doctors who can learn from one another, share clinical knowledge, and help make compassionate, informed ME/CFS care more accessible.
Through Frontline Physicians for ME/CFS, Dr. Brown hopes to help build that community, one physician at a time.
Help us build a future where people living with ME/CFS can find physicians who understand their illness. Become a Fatigue Framework Ambassador to receive updates, share resources with physicians, and help expand awareness of knowledgeable ME/CFS care.
